"As a male who has what we call the nylon gene and thus wears tights and pantyhose daily here's what I know from studying this phenomenon in reaction to trying to understand why I was such a 'weirdo' in wanting to wear tights. 1. Many men wear and are not goofy. I'm a doctor so I see people when they least expect it when I work in ERs and the number of guys who wear is astonishing. There other doctors, construction workers, policemen, firemen ... anyone who works standing up for more than the typical work day. Plus the number of patients who admit to wearing for leg fatigue greatly increases this number. Most tend to be straight with wives, children and dogs. 2. Some men wear for odd sexual reasons. But you know, people do all sorts of weird sexual stuff and involve all manners of earthly things. These people should not be classified in the same vein as the people in number 1. I know, in the ER you see all of humanity at its 'finest' and there is a large difference between the two groups. 3. Some women can't stand pantyhose. But this is what makes the world great, not everyone likes everything that everyone else does. Some of the most closed minded people are those with the bumpersticker "question authority". I have noticed when you get down to it though, there are those women who hate pantyhose cause they buy the same size as they wore in high school yet do not still have the same dimensions. Plus the hose haters tend to buy Rite-Aid specials, and you know what, I hate those pantyhose as well. The hose I buy I tend to throw out when the elasticity fails usually after wearing for over 20 times. 4. Life is too short. As long as what you do makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, why not... "
